Filling syringes quickly when run lengths are too short to warrant fully automatic machinery is a continual problem.  Our syringe fillers overcome the following problems typically encountered when a syringe is filled.

PROBLEMS OVERCOME: The amount of fill is either controlled by eyeball, time and pressure, or positive displacement - eyeball has the obvious problems of accuracy, time/pressure is feed and viscosity dependent, and positive displacement requires involved clean-up, and in the case of abrasive materials, high wear rates and potential contamination.

Our EZ-Filla^TM syringe filling systems are either manual (the operator retains pressure on the cycle switch until the fill cycle is complete) or semi-automatic (the operator presses and immediately releases the cycle switch). Features of our units may include:

EZ-Filla^TM 1000 - manual syringe filler

The model 1000 fills a single syringe at a time. Typically the material is fed from a 20-32 oz Semco reservoir using air pressure in the range 70-80 psi, but this can usually be adapted to any reservoir.

As a standard it is provided with a Luer nozzle adapter but can be ordered to accept virtually any type of common syringe. A wide range of syringe types and sizes, micro-liters to 60cc can be handled.  Larger sizes can be catered for.

We expect that, depending on syringe size, volume filled and viscosity, about 120-360 syringes can be filled per hour.

This filler will be suitable for the producer during R&D, for small batches being produced as samples. Suitable for aseptic process in laboratories. Its quick changeover feature makes it particularly suitable for a manufacturer producing low volumes of numerous products.

It can also be provided with a nozzle to allow back filling of cartridges and syringes.

EZ-Filla^TM 1100 - two syringes simultaneously, same or different materials

This system overcomes the problems listed at the top of the page as follows:

  A. Two syringes are handled simultaneously (Although the dispense cycles are actually independent)
  B. The operator does not have to hold or watch the syringes during a cycle. Once the syringes are located on the nozzles the machine automatically grips and holds the syringe so the operator is free to get two more syringes while the first two are filling.
  C. The adjustable level dual photo sensor automatically senses the syringe plunger when they reach the full position. This provides as accurate fill while avoiding the problems previously described.
  D. When the cycle is complete the same gripping system that holds the syringe in place pulls the syringe off the luer taper and ejects the syringe into a waiting container or onto a conveyor.

The machine can be adapted to accept virtually any type of common syringe. Total machine cycle time is dependent on fill volume but is generally between 2 and 5 seconds.

EZ-Filla^TM 1200 - a 2-component syringe or two single syringes, different materials

This machine is designed to fill a dual (2-component) syringe, both sides simultaneously with two different materials. Syringes are placed in the fill nozzle. The system is actuated locking the dual syringe in position and grippers grab the plunger and begin to guide it up as the Syringe is being filled. When filled the gripper releases the plunger and the operator removes the syringe.
 

This system is particularly useful for low quantity production or where frequent material change out is required. A typical fill takes 2-6 sec.
