Momentary closure of the cycle start switch initiates the following events: air pressure is applied to both the material reservoir and simultaneously to the elastomer tube in the valve; as the tube collapses, material is expelled from the nozzle but pressure in the reservoir prevents flow in the opposite direction; release of air pressure from both the valve and reservoir stops the dispense; material is pulled back by the returning action of the tube following pressure release.  Precise small quantities can be repeatability dispensed by controlling the two variables: air pressure to the reservoir and degree of tube collapse (time).
